Small Town Drama. Super-Cute Meet Ups.
5 out of 5 stars
I finished this one up yesterday and I remember thinking as I was reading it “wow, this one is really good I’m glad I just started it”. Only to look down and see that I was more than halfway done with it. This is the fifth Robin Alexander book I’ve read and I’ve enjoyed all of them. There are two things I expect from a Robin Alexander romance. One is that it’s going to be set in the south somewhere, usually in Louisiana. And two, I’m going to laugh. Both were true in this one – just thinking about one of their laughs was enough to send me into a giggle fit.
Kellen’s Moment was one of those books that I just absolutely flew through enjoying every moment. I liked the family history and those who wanted to buck that history just because they were tired of it. It’s funny, I never thought about rival hometowns in small-town country. It just makes sense that there would be one big family in each town and that feud could spawn from one or two moments in their past.
A lot of things come to a head in Kellen’s Moment – and there might be some triggers for some (parents’ reactions especially). But the way that this book came to its crescendo ending was beautiful. Even with some tragedy and some issues – it was just the perfect ending.
Overall, Kellen’s Moment was a book I finished in two or three sittings because I loved it so much. One that I flew through and laughed as much as I was smiling. Performed beautifully by Lori Prince (as always)
Book Description:
Kellen McLin has been waiting for her moment for a long time. She says when two people who are meant to be together find each other, they know it instantly. Kellen believes her moment girl has finally arrived, but there’s one big problem – she’s a Sealy. The McLins and the Sealys are South Louisiana’s version of the Hatfields and the McCoys.
Stevie Sealy left Louisiana for college and didn’t return except for holiday visits with her family. After a breakup with her boyfriend, she decides to move back to the town of Sealy temporarily. She never really understood or wanted to be involved in the family feud with the McLins, but she finds herself right in the middle of it when Kellen McLin walks into her life and changes everything.
In this romantic comedy, Robin Alexander weaves a tale about how fast love can happen and how inconvenient it can be.
Contains mature themes.
