A Cute Story

Perks of Office was one of those stories that I was worried I was going to dislike as it opened up a bit. Now, I say that personally, and I mean nothing against Liz Rain. I just know that the work dynamic can go really badly.
Thankfully, I assumed this was going to be a HEA story, but I honestly couldn’t tell if the characters introduced as the two main ones would end up together. I just thought they might both end up happily ever after.
The story itself was really enjoyable. I thought that Rain did a good job setting the stage. Creating characters that were likable (or not in certain circumstances). I also liked that Emma found a backbone at some point in the story. I was so proud of her.
As the story wound to a close, I still wasn’t sure exactly what would happen, and when that final reveal happened, I’m not ashamed to admit I had happy tears running down my face. Rain built up such tension that it was an emotional dam bursting.
Overall, with the excellent performance from Cat Gould, Perks of Office was a cute story that I enjoyed.
