A Well Thought Out Thriller
5 out of 5 stars
Run For Cover was one of those books that I’m so glad that I picked up – but it was also one of those “perfect timing” books. You know the ones that you pick up and they just happened to be the exact type of book you want and need at that exact time. The first Ledwidge book that I picked up was Stop At Nothing, which I thoroughly enjoyed. So, when I saw that Run For Cover was being released I had to pick it up.
When I first picked up Stop At Nothing I didn’t realize that it was going to be a series – but after finishing it I knew that I wanted more with these characters. Run For Cover delivers that and more. The story might have been even better and the build from the beginning to end was excellent. Now that the characters are already set up, Ledgwidge can really focus on the story and he delivered.
I really enjoyed this story, it reminded me a lot of the Naturalist Series by Andrew Mayne since a lot of those stories take place in remote, off the grid type places and the way that Gannon had to solve the puzzle reminded me a lot of that combined with the Nils Shaprio series as well.
Overall, I thought that Run For Cover was excellent, a story that I absolutely flew through and one that I won’t forget for a while. Put Ledwidge on your list of Thriller Authors to Watch for 2021. I hope there are more in this series and more from this author this year.
The next installment in the pulse-pounding Gannon series, featuring murder, intrigue, and a deadly new mystery that may just be his last….
Fresh from a lethal entanglement with some of the deepest and darkest players in the global intelligence services, Michael Gannon heads to the safest place he can think of: deep in the wilds of Utah on the ranch of one of his oldest and closest war buddies.
But when his friend’s brother is found dead in the rocky foothills of Grand Teton, Gannon realizes there are some things more important than keeping your head down. Is his death just one in a string of grisly murders mysteriously occurring around national parks – or a part of something even more sinister?
Flushed from cover, Gannon soon finds himself teamed up with tenacious FBI agent Kit Hagen on the trail of a dangerous mystery and a head-on collision course with a ruthless killer whose skills at war are as deadly as they come.
