Very Cute

I needed a nice pick-me-up book and The Wrong Date was just that. I went into it without a ton of knowledge other than it just seemed like a cute story. It was just that. Very cute in fact.
I loved the storyline that Waters wrote in. Annie was one of those characters that you just wanted to see do well. She was a bit shy and seemingly easy to walk over, but at the same time knew what she wanted. She was a great main character and watching her grow throughout the story was easily the highlight of it. Then you add in Robin and you’ve got sparks. Robin as a character was also unique. I don’t think I’ve ever read a story with a character with Robin’s backstory and current job (trying not to spoil) but once they finally meet and things start, you know that the rest of the book is going to be cute.
Even the moment of friction later in the book that all of these stories seem to have felt right. I could tell that it was coming, I had a feeling that it was going to blow up the way that it did and the timeline and the reactions both felt realistic and honest. I’m glad that Waters included it, and I’m glad that it felt like it was progressing the story instead of just throwing in some drama for drama sake.
Overall, The Wrong Date was a very cute story that I smiled throughout. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for other audiobooks by Sienna Waters, especially those narrated by the extremely talented Melissa Moran.
