Just Unneeded, DNF

 DNF out of 5 stars

This is about as rare as it comes for me. I did not finish this book. I usually give every book a chance, but I just couldn’t with Spin. I thought I was crazy and listened to around 50% of it just hoping that something was going to happen. I finally stopped for a couple of days and thought “it’s just me, I’m in a funk”. But decided to look up other reviews of it. I was not alone. I feel terrible hating on a book but when I saw basically every thought I’d had written out by the top reviews on Audible. I felt a bit better.

Spin is a book that didn’t need to happen. From what I can tell – it was an unnecessary addition to the first story, Quantum,  which I rated a 3 out of 5 and said “Didn’t Leave Me Wowed Like I Expected”. The storyline in these could be SO good. And I think that’s where this one fell short. The first book caught my eye and kept my attention. In the first few hours of Spin I was sitting here laughing at how many times she would write out random acronyms then explain what they meant. And sadly, they had zero to do with the story.

One of the reviews I caught said that if you cared enough, check the last chapter of the book and the last chapter only. I did not do that, I figured I was so frustrated at this point I was going to put it down and walk away from it.

The ONLY redeeming factor was the narration. LaVoy did a great job with a pretty boring story. I love her narration and I’m sad that I didn’t enjoy the book as a whole more.
